GUWAHATI: In the ongoing war against drugs, West Guwahati Police District arrested two drug peddlers during the last 24 hours.

Police arrested Akash Das (21 years). He is son of Krishna Das of village Rani Satpukhuli under Ajara Police Station in Kamrup (M) district. He was apprehended at Sanpu Valley near Forest Gate, Lokhra. The Police also recovered 12.40 gram of suspected heroin, two empty vials along with two mobile phones were recovered.

Similarly, in a joint operation of the Crime Branch and Garchuk Police Station, a search-and-raid operation was conducted in a mobile-accessory shop of Samsul Haque (25 years of age). He is son of Jikir Ali who is a resident of village Kotahbari under Garchuk Police Station. The Police seized nine plastic containers containing suspected brown sugar weighing 11.8 gram, informed sources.
