Two labourers die at Bhupendra Nagar in Mathgharia area

GUWAHATI: Two labourers lost their lives in the course of digging a well on the premises of a house at Bhupendra Nagar in Mathgharia area, on Tuesday. The victims are – Bankim Hajong (35) and Mrigen Roy (35).

The Noonmati Police informed that the reason of the death is oxygen deficiency as the well was 30 feet deep. According to reports, Hajong was the first person to go into the well. Roy went down the well in a bid to rescue Hajong after he called for help. The deceased were residents of Jonaki Nagar. The bodies were taken out by a team of police and SDRF and were later sent for post mortem to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
