DIMORIA: In a joint operation conducted by the army, Sonapur Police and Forest officials, two poachers were arrested from Medhikuchi in the Sonapur area on Tuesday night. According to forest officials, the duo was arrested with monkey flesh and arms. Both are residents of Meghalaya.
The officials have seized a Bolero car, two rifles, 12 kg monkey flesh, 11 rounds of live ammunition among several other items from their possession. The duo killed five monkeys and was residing in a house located in a paddy field, the forest officials added. Both have been arrested under the Wildlife Protection Act and have been sent to judicial custody.
