GUWAHATI: Two distressing incidents surfaced in the city, where a final-year undergraduate student committed suicide, leaving behind a suicide note detailing the reason behind taking such a step.

The deceased have been identified as Abdul Jamir, who hailed from Karimganj. He was a student at Lalit Chandra Bharali College.

According to sources, Abdul was found hanging in his rental room situated at Santipur Masjid Road in the Bharalumukh area.

In another incident, under mysterious circumstances, a girl's body was recovered near her residence's boundary at Bhaskar Nagar in Kalapahar during the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to the police sources, the neighbours informed the Fatashil Ambari police after a neighbour near the deceased's residence spotted the body. The police suspected she jumped off the third floor of her residence.

The family members of the deceased informed the police that they were unable to understand why the incident took place. The family members were not aware of any kind of stress she was going through, but the deceased had been feeling low the previous day. The deceased spent the entire day at home and later went for her tuition. Later at night, she was busy with her project until late with her mother beside her, and she went to sleep in her room.
