Unidentified miscreants attack house, assault two in Hatigaon

GUWAHATI: Unidentified miscreants entered the house of former MLA Ali Akbar Miah and assaulted his two nieces on Monday.

Both the victims were hit on their heads while they were together in a room of Miah's residence (flat no. 12) in Bakulban Housing complex under Hatigaon Police Station. The victims are - Jasminara Ahmed (25) and Nilofa Akhtar (24). Akhtar is a resident of Bogoribari under Dhubri district. According to reports, both of them have been admitted to a private hospital and are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating the matter. However, they have found no evidence as to how the miscreants entered the house.
