GUWAHATI: Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda on Monday met Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan and discussed steps for bringing about more development for the tribal people in the State.
Governor Prof. Mukhi and the Union Minister talked on Van Dhan Yojana and its implementation for the welfare of the tribals in the State. They also discussed on the formation of the Van Dhan Vikas Kendras in the State. The minister said that the scheme would be a game changer for the tribals and would go a long way in creating more employment avenues to build and promote an economic empowerment narrative for the tribal people.
The minister said that all steps had been taken to make sure that schemes of the government essentially bring about tangible changes in the lives of the tribal people of the State. Governor Prof. Mukhi also assured matching steps from the State government for taking all schemes and programmes of the Centre to empower people socially, academically and economically, stated a press release.
