University Grants Commission (UGC) regional office in Guwahati closed

GUWAHATI: The UGC (University Grants Commission) closed its regional office in Guwahati. UGC's Joint Secretary, Professor Rajesh Kumar Verma, informed all principals of colleges in the Northeast in a letter that UGC's 'North Eastern Regional Office (NERO) in Guwahati has been relocated to the UGC New Delhi office. Hence, all the communications pertaining to NERO, Guwahati, are now sent to the New Delhi UGC office'. Earlier, UGC had taken a decision to shut all the regional offices in the country.
