Veer Lachit Sena condemns Assam-Mizoram boundary clash

GUWAHATI: The Veer Lachit Sena, Assam has stated that the attack on Assam Police personnel by Mizo miscreants will not be tolerated.

"If the government cannot recover the encroached land at the Assam-Mizoram boundary then the responsibility should be given to the Bir Lachit Sena. We are ready to fight the encroachers," said Veer Lachit Sena chief secretary Rantu Paniphukan while addressing the media here on Tuesday.

Paniphukan said that the attack took place due to the 'weak stand' of the successive Assam governments in resolving the 40-year-old boundary dispute.

"Within 24 hours, the miscreants responsible for the attack should be handed over to Assam or else we will stage intense protests at the Mizoram House here," Paniphukan added.
