GUWAHATI: As a part of the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week that commenced from October 26, the employees of Guwahati Refinery reiterated their commitment to the best vigilance practices and integrity in the pledge-taking programme organized on Tuesday at the administrative building lawn. In the programme, the employees took the integrity pledge in three languages i.e, Assamese, Hindi and English respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Singh, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery said that the theme for this year's Vigilance Awareness Week observance was very much apt in realizing what we are doing to fight the menace of corruption. He further said that at a time when the entire country is looking for integrity from all government functionaries, Indian Oil as a corporate is taking every measure to sustain integrity and probity in all its procedures as well as functions. While sharing various practices adopted by the corporation like BTS, e-Tendering, Automation, he enunciated his confidence on these practices in ensuring integrity, accountability and transparency in the organization. Sharing his thoughts on this year's theme i.e. India @75: Self-Reliance with Integrity, he further urged the employees to continue with their commitment and dedication in prevention of corruption so as to contribute towards a corruption-free society.
At the programme, Vigilance Awareness Week messages from Central Vigilance Commission, Chairman, Indian Oil, SM Vaidya and Chief Vigilance Officer, Indian Oil, Anant Kumar Singh were read out. As part of the observance, a number of competitions including quiz, speech, debate, slogan writing have been planned to generate awareness as well as to sensitize the employees, their family members, students, members from CISF and trade apprentices. A training programme through external faculty for the employees and a vendors' grievance redressal programme have also been chalked out. With the motive of generating awareness among the stakeholders outside the refinery, Guwahati Refinery has also planned to conduct lecture competition among college students and online quiz competition among school students, stated a press release.
