Vikash Jain often held rave parties in his apartment: Assam Police

GUWAHATI: Police recently busted a rave party in a posh apartment in Kharguli in the city and recovered huge quantity of drugs. Around 18 people were arrested by the police.

Police sources said that the owner of the apartment, Vikash Jain would often organize such rave parties in his residence. Sources said that one of the arrested persons, Ashok Barman had brought cocaine to the party while another arrested person, Chayan Saikia was in possession of ganja at the party.

During the course of interrogation, Ashok Barman disclosed that he had bought the cocaine in the city from someone. Police sources added further that cocaine is smuggled into Guwahati from Delhi, usually South Delhi, through courier service. In India, cocaine is smuggled from foreign countries. This link is being investigation, said police sources.

The others who were arrested have said that they had not taken drugs in the party. However, police sources said that this would only be confirmed from the results of their medical tests which are yet to come.
