GUWAHATI: Dispur MLA Atul Bora flagged off the mobile van of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra of the Kamrup (M) district from Khetri Gaon Panchayat in the Sonapur area on Thursday. ADC (Additional Deputy Commissioner) Pinki Dutta and panchayat representatives took part in the programme.

The main aim of this yatra is to identify those people who are eligible for government schemes but are not receiving those benefits. Those people are to be included in the schemes, spread awareness and promotion of the government schemes, and listens to the views of the beneficiaries.

Atul Bora read out the five resolutions in the Sankalp Yatra. Several beneficiaries shared about the positive changes brought about by the government schemes in their lives. The meeting also honoured Nikshay Mitra, presented a certificate to a TB-recovered person, and distributed food packages to a TB patient in TB-free India.

At Sonapur Panchayat, the mobile van was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, Dorothy Suchiang. The Yatra will be implemented in 21 Gaon Panchayats under Dimoria, Chandrapur, and Rani Development Blocks of Kamrup (M) District and later in areas of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
