GUWAHATI: Deputy Superintendent of Police Mrinal Sarma of Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell, Assam, submitted the supplementary charge-sheet against the accused in the Rs 30-crore DIPR scam (Vision Assam Mission Assam) that took place at the fag-end of the Congress government in 2016. The charge-sheet containing 115 pages was submitted before the court of Special Judge on Thursday.

Based on a complaint petition submitted by Dispur MLA Atul Bora the regular enquiry (01/2017) was initiated at Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell as per approval of the Chief Minister.

The FIR states that, a multi-media campaign called 'Vision Assam Mission Assam' (VAMA) was outsourced to Professional Creative Agency / Production House & Media Buying Agencies in the early part of 2016 at exorbitant rates and thereby caused huge loss to the Government and corresponding illegal pecuniary benefits to the firms.

During investigation, a prima facie case is well established against the then Director, DIPR Ranjit Gogoi, Anjana Bora and Rajib Bora of Brahmaputra Television Network, Dilip Kalita of Delta Publicity and Apurba Lahkar of M/S Pradip Advertising & Co, a press release said.
