GUWAHATI: In what can be called as a hopeless situation a glimmer of hope has flickered when a group of students have started an initiative called "Warriors of Flood" to go directly on the field and help those suffering flood fury in the State.
The students are of M. Com 2nd Semester of Gauhati University. They took the initiative on their own. The students joined in and made wholehearted efforts to turn the idea into a reality. They have made creative digital posters and asked their friends, teachers, colleagues and other close ones to donate and spread awareness about the initiative. To their surprise, the initiative was received warmly by the respondents who helped them wholeheartedly not only in monetary terms but also through effective positive motivation. The donation was used for distribution of rice, potato, sugar, other eatables, mosquito coils, soaps, detergents, sanitary pads, etc. among the people of various flood-affected villages in Morigaon district. The students said that they wanted to make a difference, whatever small it might be. This small yet effective initiative of "Warriors of Flood" shows that there are always ways to overcome grim situations only if there is will.
