GUWAHATI: The Assam State Primary Teachers Association (ASPTA) has announced that they will continue their agitation until the creation of the headmaster posts in all primary schools. The Association has also announced that it will conduct its series of protests along with the All Assam TET Qualified Teachers Association, the State Pool Teachers Association, and the All Bodo Teachers Association. They will be submitting their declaration to the BEEO (Block of Elementary Education Officer) that they will not be accepting the Rs 300 as a bonus on July 19 until their demands are met. They will also be holding sectoral exchange meetings starting July 1. The association said that they will stage a two-hour sit-in protest at the offices of all sector education officers in the state.

The association's president, Akhil Chandra Nath, and general secretary, Ratul Chandra Goswami, said, "They will not cooperate with the government's Shiksha Setu Portal until their creation of the headmaster's posts. It is clear that this struggle will continue until the post of Headmaster is created. This agitation will continue without disturbing the teaching of the students. But when the department tries to suppress us, we will take it to the streets."
