World Physiotherapy Day held

GUWAHATI, Sept 9: World Physiotherapy Day was celebrated in the city today by the physiotherapist fraternity of the State. A public meeting held on the occasion at Geetanagar High School premises witnessed several prominent physiotherapists and a good number of students of physiotherapy, besides members of the public, taking part. As per a communiqué issued by the organizers of the event, the programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a welcome speech by Dr Madhusmita Koch. Eminent physiotherapists like Dr Ujwal Bhattacharyya, Dr Abhijit Dutta and Dr Ankur Jyoti Bora highlighted the importance of World Physiotherapy Day before the gathering. A bike rally, flagged off by noted Assamese film director Manash Robin, was also held on the occasion.
