GUWAHATI: A youth named Victor Das has alleged that a lobby is running a 'backdoor appointment" racket in connection with the recently-held recruitment examinations for Grade-III and Grade-IV posts under the State Government.

Das, a candidate in the examinations, levelled this charge on Thursday via a tweet where he tagged Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Special DGP GP Singh and DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta. The tweet read: "@gpsinghips @DGPAssamPolice @himantabiswa @CMOfficeAssam Respected Sir, a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment of the recently held ADRE exams where people are demanding money from 3lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post, also a few ex-MLA is involved. Please help."

In response, GP Singh tweeted: "Please give specifics. You may inbox specific details to me."

Das's tweet has sparked concern among numerous other candidates, who took to social media and urged the Assam Police to probe the matter with due seriousness.
