GUWAHATI: Guwahati is slowly turning into a crime capital as yet another murder took place in the city. A youth was shot dead by armed assailants in the city on Thursday.

The incident took place on Thursday night in the Koindhora locality of the city when unidentified assailants shot Anjan Nath at point-blank range while he was on his motorcycle. He was rushed to a private medical facility, which is located near the location of the incident, with bullet wounds on his chest, but was declared dead on arrival by the doctors on duty.

Meanwhile, the family members of the victim filed a complaint stating that he was shot dead while sitting on his two-wheeler bearing registration number AS 01 BM 6614 near the Ganesh Mandir in Khanapara. They also pointed their fingers at a woman named Gitashri Sinha in the complaints for conspiring with her family and ex-husband and murdering Anjan Nath.

According to sources, Anjan Nath was in a relationship with Gitashri Sinha despite not having consent from either family. It also came to light that the accused had been divorced three times in the past and had a child from one of her previous marriages.
