ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Sensing Application Centre, Itanagar, imparted a hands-on training on geographic information systems (GIS)-based projects on Thursday. A team led by APSAC joint director and also nodal officer Dr. Liagi Tajo later successfully implemented the GIS-based real-time utility information system for West Siang district. The training was the first of its kind in the state and was initiated by Aalo East MLA Kento Jini, according to an official release.

The APSAC, Itanagar, submitted the web-based portal with GIS data based on the utilities of Aalo-Kamba, the citizen-centric mobile application, and the staff management mobile application. The citizen utility app can be downloaded, and it will be easier for citizens and line departments to file any complaints about public utility services like PHED, Power, PWD, UD, and Housing departments, etc.
