Milan Buragohain and Lachit Gogoi
Finally, the ‘cat is out of the bag’. This has come as a ‘bolt from the blue for those who supported them the most. Hopefully, it would help people be decisive in the future by lending wholehearted support to organisations being spearheaded by some middlemen like the duo. This has been commonplace in Assamese society. There are big cats too, who are evading public glare. Can all the leaders of social organisations in Assam hold their hands to their hearts and say that they are above reproach? I don’t think so.
If we analyse correctly, we find that all our social organisations (seemingly non-political), including the AASU, could not achieve the desired goal for the interest of Assam and Assamese people despite ‘struggling’ for the last 44 years. Their acts of compromise and personal weaknesses cost the state of Assam dearly. The leaders of all hues must introspect and try to find where the fault line lies. One thing is for sure: only morally upright men can do good for the community, society, and state, and no one else!

Unpardonable crime
After a lot of hue and cry, Bhupen Bora has asked for forgiveness for equating Love Jehad with the 5,000-thousand-year-old holy book Mahabharata. To gain cheap publicity amongst the solid vote bank of the Congress and to shield the culprit in the triple murder case of Golaghat, he hurt the sentiments of Sanatani Hindu people. His statements are unpardonable and inexcusable. Hindus have always been soft targets over the ages. Any XYZ film director, writer, painter, or comedian can crack jokes or pass on vulgar comments on the deities of Hindus. Had Bhupen Bora passed such comments on the holy books of other religions (particularly Islam), by this time fatwas would have been issued with communal violence. He has taken our patience as our weakness. As of the writing of this letter, the government has not yet arrested Bhupen Bora. I feel pity for some of the Congressmen who have come out in support of him. In fact, they should have demanded his resignation as APCC president. It is heartening to see that hundreds of FIRs have been filed against him in various police stations in the state by civil society. I appreciate the statement of Xatradhikar, who proposed to ban the entry of Bhupen Bora in Naamghars. In the meantime, the new friends of Bhupen Bora, like Akhil Gogoi, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, and Ajit Bhuyan, are completely maintaining stoic silence. It was expected that these people who consider themselves devout Axomiya Sanatani Hindus would condemn Bhupen Bora, but it has not happened till now. The above-mentioned people are, in fact, out to grab every single vote of their favourite religious community, and for that, they have refrained from commenting on anything about the triple murder case of Golaghat. Hindu lives matter too.

Love Jehad
The triple murder that took place in Golaghat is yet another heinous crime ever committed in Assam. Love Jehad is a new concept that is alleged to have been spread by the RSS for communal purposes by the so-called secularists, and it has proved to be true going by the present happenings in the nation. It is always the Hindu girls who are victims of the Love Jehad. The time has come for all bona fide patriotic Indians except for the secularists to give a clarion call against this Love Jehad, as it has become a reality in Assam too.
Bhupen Bora’s recent remarks on this issue involving Lord Krishna, Gandhari, Rukmini, and Dritarashta with Love Jehad are enough to brand him as an infidel as he has crossed the Lakhan Rekha. Instead of condemning the Golaghat episode and demanding the strictest punishment for the culprit, Bhupen Bora seems to be in an appeasement mood. Shame!

Oppenheimer and Bhagawat Gita by Pallab Bhattacharya
Through your esteemed daily with the above captioned subject dated 27.7.23, should I congratulate the writer for his writing, especially on the ending paragraphs “The influence of oriental philosophy on such a prodigy is a cause for celebration for all Indians” or not?
Our writer has seen the film on its first day of release. That’s his view and choice, but his personal views should not be reflected as the last ending paragraphs, and no Indian who understands and reads the Bhagawat Gita will accept his views.
Oppenheimer studied the Bhagawat Gita and created a devastating weapon without knowing its power. Just to content himself after seeing the devastation at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he used the Bhagawat Gita as his weapon to solace himself.
But as a proud Hindu of 5000 years old, Sanatani, who read and understood the Bhagawat Gita, understood Sri Krishna, and knew his philosophy, where he had personally visited the Kauravas to accede to at least 5 villages for the Pandavas and stop the war, did Oppenheimer ever try his best effort to convince the political leader of the erstwhile US (which can be called the Kauravas) to stop this Manhattan project?
So, simply using verses of the Bhagawat Gita by Oppenheimer doesn’t imply that we all Indians will celebrate this prodigy, as he used the verses written in the Bhagawat Gita.
Last but not least, some of our writers still have a communist mentality, and they use the Bhagawat Gita or other Hindu epics to suit their needs. They do not have the courage to use other religions because they know only Hinduism, the secular one, can be used to criticise and reach their desired goal.
And Hindus are the betrayer of their own religion, like Kalidas.

Happiness curriculum
It is good to know that administrators and authorities are thinking outside the box for the betterment of society. Nothing can replace the idea of investing in unusual topics in the school curriculum like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra have done. Now Telangana is all set to follow suit by introducing the ‘Happiness Curriculum’ phase-wise from nursery to class 8 to boost the overall well-being of children. Inter-relation and intra-relation are two pillars on which quality and quantity of life hinge. Both of these cannot blossom without a sense of happiness among the stakeholders. Happiness is a state of mind, and minds are fresh and raring to go when young.
It’s not only a subjective feeling of being well, but it also encompasses a wide gamut of physical and mental emotions, and it goes without saying that ‘emotion’, ‘happiness’, and ‘experience’ are inextricably linked to one another. Perhaps what makes an individual satisfied or content is the key to happiness. This feeling or awareness of contentment should be taught from childhood. Children should be made to know that wealth, fame, health, relationships, achievement, close family, and love life, whether taken separately or together, constitute happiness for a lot of adults, and that the child is the father of the man. A child, till it enters the portals of the college, can imbibe the intricacies of happiness like none other because the responsibility of being happy is thrust on the individual and no one else.
