Regulation to dispose PPE kits

A hospital or dispensary produces lot of medical wastes, be it in the form of syringe, cotton, blood and most importantly and recently, PPE kits.

This, being indisposable as it is made up of plastics, can pose serious health hazards, much more than COVID itself if it finds its way in the waterways. Hospital wastes carry lots of germs which might find its way into human beings through drinking water or by consuming fresh water fish etc.

COVID-19 has already been dubbed as pandemic and it is the duty and moral responsibility of the hospitals to dispose off these wastes scientifically so as to ensure safety to humans.

Hope the hospital concerned take needful steps to ensure so that the situation does not deteoriate. Many places are already reeling under floods and water-borne diseases are plenty. People in most areas do not boil water for drinking purpose unaware of the threats they unknowingly expose themselves to.

Strict regulations to dispose off PPE kits and hazardous hospital waste are the need of the hour.
