Guwahati: The implementation of the New Education Policy will take place in the state from April 2022. According to this policy, the high schools of Assam will be upgraded to senior secondary schools from the 1st of April, 2022.
The government of the state is laying the groundwork in such a manner that all the required preparation for the implementation of the policy will be accomplished within March of the coming year. To support this policy, Assam state Government is also upgrading the academic infrastructure of the schools in an extensive manner.
In this regard, the Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has also mentioned the different opportunities to be provided to the youth of Assam. He mentioned that after coming to power, the state government has pledged to provide 1 lac job to the eligible nominees of the state. The aim of the government is to work for the benefit of the common people and this will be accomplished in any possible way.
Therefore, besides conducting the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET), thousands of other jobs in the education department in Assam will be provided to the eligible candidates.
It is regardless to mention in this context that, 767 candidates have been provided with the appointment letters by the Chief Minister on this occasion and out of this, 32 candidates have been appointed under the Directorate of Secondary Education whereas 616 candidates have been appointed under the elementary education directorate. Apart from this, 113 more candidates are appointed under the Directorate of higher education.
While speaking to the media, Dr. Sarma also mentioned that for the coming five years, Assam State Government will continue implementing new policies to shape the educational sphere of the state into a new dimension. It is expected that the New Education Policy will enhance the education level of the coming generation in a subsequent manner. Along with the CM, the Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu was also present on the occasion where it is highlighted that apart from General Science, Mathematics and English; all other subjects will be taught in the mother tongue.
