NEW DELHI: Four films from Assam have been sent to the Goa International Film Festival on Friday, November 5th for special screenings.

On Friday 5 November all four films are sent to the IFFI International Film Festival in Goa for a special display of movies for the Indian Panorama. Out of the four movies sent for screening, three are featured films but one is a non-feature film.

The feature section or story picture section in the Goa International Film Festival holds a film from Assam in Bodo language named 'Shijou' directed by Vishal P Chalia that has been selected for screening.

The same section includes another Assamese film by Aimee Baruah named 'Semkhor' in Dimasa language to be displayed in the Film Festival.

'Bomba Ride' which is a Mishing language film directed by Biswajeet Bora is another film selected for screening from the feature film category.

The section of the non-feature in the Goa International Film Festival holds the Assamese documentary by Kishor Kalita named 'Veerangana' that is selected for screening.

The non-feature section includes one of the Manipuri language documentaries Pabung Syam directed by Haobam Paban Kumar.

Goa International Film Festival is organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals of India along with the Government of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the State Government of Goa. The Film Festival in Goa will be held for nine long days which is scheduled to start on 20 November and end by 28 November 2021. All the films selected will be presented to the entire representative and registered delegates from the films selected.

The selection of the films is done by prominent filmmakers and excellent film personalities from the world of Indian Cinema. A total of 25 feature films have been selected for Goa International Film Festival and 20 films in non-feature sections.
