Farhan Akhtar And Shibani Dandekar To Tie The Knot On Feb 21

Mumbai: The last six months have been a delight for all the Bollywood lovers, with Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, and many more tying the knot.

Another high-profile wedding is on the cards after Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar has finally decided to get married.

According to reports, the couple will register their marriage on 21 February and the application had been filed by the couple in early January with the registration expected to take place at either of their Bandra residences on the big day.

Farhan Akhtar's father, Javed Akhtar, the renowned lyricist and screenwriter, confirmed this news to the media.

Javed Akhtar was asked about his son's wedding to which he responded by saying that the wedding is indeed taking place and added that the wedding preparations is being taken care of by the wedding planners.

He further went on to say that the event will be an intimate one with only close friends and family due to the ongoing pandemic situation.

"Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people," he said.

He emphasized that the event will be simple and nothing extravagant will be done. They are yet to send formal invitations to their guests.

According to media reports, the bride and the groom will be celebrating their union with family and close friends at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's Khandala farmhouse, Sukoon, in a day or two after the court marriage.

Sources have informed that the couple did not want a big fat Indian wedding and they always wanted an intimate event.

They also added that the event will be all about food, music, laughter and celebration.

Javed Akhtar is quite fond of Shibani. When asked about her, he expressed, "She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much."

He also said that the couple gets along with each other quite well, which is what matters the most.

Farhan and Shibani started dating back in 2018. Farhan was previously married to Adhuna Bhabani, a celebrity hairstylist, with whom he has two daughters - Shakya and Akira.

Shibani Dandekar is a popular name in the Indian television industry. Her popularity increased even more after she started hosting the IPL. She has participated in reality shows such as Khatron Ke Khiladi and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.

She was seen most recently in the second season of Amazon Prime Video's web-series Four More Shots Please! .
