MUMBAI: For his contributions to the entertainment industry, Indian filmmaker Karan Johar will receive recognition at the British Parliament in London.

According to a statement released by his team, Karan Johar will be honoured at the event the following week in front of Lords and MPs. The House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the British Parliament, are both located in the Palace of Westminster, where the event will be held.

Many of Karan Johar's films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, were filmed in the United Kingdom.

He received the title of Visit Britain Goodwill Ambassador in 2012 in recognition of his unique campaign to entice and invite people to travel to and explore the nation.

His blockbusters Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name Is Khan broke box office records upon their theatrical debuts and went on to become the highest grossing Indian films in the UK. One of India's top production companies, Dharma Productions, is run by Karan Johar.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which comes out on July 28, marks Karan Johar's return to directing after a seven-year absence. Karan Johar made his directorial debut with the 1998 movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

After seven years, director Karan Johar is back in the director's chair for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Following Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are back together in the lead roles of this film. On May 25, Karan Johar's birthday and the occasion of his 25th year in the film industry, the first posters were unveiled. The director is both anxious and excited as the first teaser will be released the following week on June 20.

On July 28, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani will be shown in theatres. Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan play the leading roles in the family drama. After a seven-year hiatus, Karan is taking the director's chair once more. Karan recently uploaded a photo to Instagram. "After 7 years... back in the director's chair... I am excited, nervous, and yet so happy," a portion of his caption read.
