Epic Games teased a Naruto crossover on its Fortnite Twitter profile last week, confirming it will debut on Tuesday, November 16. The teaser was posted to the account, implying that this might be more than just an Item Shop drop with a few skins. Fortnite data miners are here to add to the speculation with some tempting disclosures.
Crossovers have been a popular pastime in Fortnite, and while some have been large multi-week tournaments, the majority are much smaller. Some enthusiasts have been requesting Fortnite x Naruto crossovers for a long time, and Epic has finally delivered, as seen by the teaser image.
Apart from the November 16 release date, Epic hasn't said much about the crossover. Nevertheless, game data-miner and well-known Fortnite leaker HYPEX has claimed that the Naruto crossover would be more than just a skin in the battle royale game's Item Shop.
The crossover will contain a Creative Hub showcasing the Hidden Leaf Village, as per the account. In addition, HYPEX states that a variety of cosmetics will be accessible in the Item Shop, advising customers to "prepare" their wallets. However, according to the sources, not everything will be expensive.
As part of the agreement, HYPEX claims that two free Naruto-themed gifts will be made accessible, one containing a Ninja Scroll and the other a cup of ramen. Gamers will gather coins in Creative mode to unlock the goodies, according to the account.
If this is real, it would be similar to the previous Balenciaga partnership, which saw players scouring a thematic Creative Hub for a specific quantity of sneakers to claim. At this point, it's unknown whether the Naruto crossover will contain new challenges based on the series.
An apparent marketing picture for the crossover was also posted on the site. Naruto is seen eating pizza in front of the Fortnite POI Pizza Pit in the video. The graphics do have the same style and feel like other characters' loading screens – loading screens that are frequently provided as prizes for finishing tasks. However, we'll have to wait until the official crossover launch next week to know if gamers will be allowed to use the artwork as a loading screen.
