MUMBAI: Satish Kaushik, an actor, writer, and director, died on March 8 in Gurugram at the age of 66. The actor died after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday.
According to reports, the postmortem will be performed before his body is transported to Mumbai.
Anupam Kher, a close friend and associate, shared the terrible news on Twitter. Kher tweeted, "I am aware that death is the ultimate truth of this planet," but I never imagined writing this about my best friend #SatishKaushik while still living. Such a swift goodbye to a 45-year friendship! Life without you, Satish, will never be the same! Om Shanti!"
Also, Kher posted a black-and-white image of him and Kaushik together.
In response to the news, Kangana Ranaut said, "A very successful actor and director, Satish Kaushik ji was also a very lovely and honest man; I enjoyed working with him on Emergency. I woke up to this terrible news. He was my biggest supporter. Om Shanti, he will be sorely missed."
Satish Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956. His breakthrough performance came in Shekhar Kapur's Mr. India as the character Calendar.
With early releases like Jaane Bhi Do Yaro, Mandi, and Woh 7 Din, he also had an influence. With the release of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Kaushik transitioned to directing.
Some of his best-known films as a director include Tere Naam and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain.
Many celebrities, including Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Richa Chadda, Ali Faizal, Mahima Choudhury, and others, joined the legendary actor in celebrating Holi at Javed Akhtar's home recently.
The actor also tweeted a Happy Holi message to everyone. In his tweet, he stated, "Coloured Joyful Fun #Holi party at Janki Kutir Juhu by @javedakhtarjadu @babaazmi."
