Shahid Kapoor Starrer ‘Farzi’ Declared As Most-Watched Indian Series

MUMBAI: With their series Farzi, Raj and DK have accomplished yet another triumph following the smash hit The Family Man.

Farzi has been named the most-watched Indian series of all time, per a study done by Ormax Media.

Farzi, starring Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, has drawn a record-breaking 37.1 million viewers. Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar are among an impressive ensemble cast of performers who play crucial roles in Farzi. 

The plot centres on Sunny, a part-time con artist (played by Shahid), who gets sucked into the shadows while planning the ideal con. Vijay Sethupathi's role as a fiery and unconventional task force officer has made it his mission to rid the country of the threat he represents.

Taking on a topic like counterfeiting, which the series refers to as nothing less than "financial terrorism," the series is praised for both its content and performances. Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi make their on-screen debuts in the crime thriller, which is directed by the renowned team of Raj and DK.

The series' second season has been officially announced by the lead actors. Shahid posted a message divulging the information and sharing the news with his Instagram family. He penned "Farzi Fever...THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH" as the caption.

The Instagram account of Raj and DK has also shared a post saying, "Thank you all... for all the love!!"

The online series outperformed Ajay Devgn's "Rudra," which was shown on Disney+Hotstar, Pankaj Tripathi's "Mirzapur," which was available on Netflix, Jeetendra Kumar's "Panchayat," and Aditya Roy Kapur's "The Night Manager," which was broadcast on Disney+Hotstar.
