HYDERABAD: Veteran Telugu actor Krishna passed away this morning. Krishna had a heart attack early on Monday morning and was immediately taken to Continental Hospital in Hyderabad. According to the doctor's report, the actor passed away in the morning today.
Over 300 films were produced during Krishna's illustrious acting career. He was also the father of Mahesh Babu, a well-known Telugu actor.
According to the doctors the actor was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit and was using a ventilator. Additionally, the report says he was carried to Continental Hospital in Gachibowli at about two in the morning on Monday. A group of medical professionals, including cardiologists and critical care specialists, were closely monitoring his status.
The doctors were quite clear that they couldn't comment on the outcome for the following 24 or 48 hours. A doctor can be seen in a video updating viewers on Krishna's health in a previous social media post. The doctor said in the video that "the cardiologists promptly administered CPR and he was pulled out of cardiac arrest in 20 minutes."
The seasoned performer turned 79 in May of this year. His full name was Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy. Since the passing of his wife Indira Devi in September, the former celebrity has reportedly been experiencing depression. Her ailment had been going on for a while. He lost his older son Ramesh Babu in January.
K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, expressed his condolences for the loss of the renowned actor and producer Krishna. The CM paid tribute to Krishna's five decades of contributions to the Telugu cinema industry as an actor, producer, director, and leader of the production business.
The Telugu film industry has suffered a great loss with the passing of Krishna, who appeared in more than 350 films and left a lasting impression on viewers.
