Team Adipurush Releases New Poster On Hanuman Jayanti

MUMBAI: The upcoming mythical epic film Adipurush's producers and director presented a brand-new poster featuring actor Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman on Thursday, March 6, in honour of Hanuman Jayanti. 

The movie's portrayal of the deity is seen on the poster sitting quietly on a rock with his "gada (mace)" next to him. Prabhas, who plays Lord Ram, can be seen in the distance. There were also shared variations of the poster in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. 

Adipurush is billed as a pan-Indian movie and will rely on Prabhas' appeal on a national level to garner viewers. Sunny Singh plays Lakshman, Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh, and Kriti Sanon plays Sita in Adipurush. The movie was supposed to come out earlier this year, but after fans criticised the visual effects in the teaser, the release date was postponed. 

The movie will now be released on June 16, after it was decided to spend extra time and money polishing it. Nage is best known as the lead character in the Zed Marathi series Jai Malhar. Om Raut gained popularity for helming Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, a box office success. Green screens were used to shoot the movie on soundstages, and Om Raut used a similar technique for Adipurush. 

The movie is crucial for Prabhas' future as well. Prabhas gained fame after the box office smashes Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The End, but he was unable to repeat that success with his two subsequent films, Saaho and Radhe Shyam. He will next appear in Salaar, directed by KGF's Prashant Neel, after Adipurush.

Adipurush was announced in August 2020, through an official motion poster. Principal photography commenced in February 2021 and ended in November 2021 taking place primarily in Mumbai, followed by post-production works. The film's music is composed by Ajay–Atul.
