Varun Dhawan shoots new movie 'Bhediya' in Arunachal Pradesh: Varun Dhawan will be shooting his next film, Amar Kaushik's 'Bhediya' in Arunachal Pradesh. The film also stars Kriti Sanon. This film will be the second collaboration of the actors who earlier featured in Rohit Shetty's 2015 film Dilwale.
Amar Kaushik directed the 2018 horror film 'Stree'. 'Stree' starred Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana.
According to reports, Dhawan liked the director's earlier movie and is reportedly excited to work with him in the horror genre. Reports also indicated that Dhawan and Sanon share a good rapport based on their previous work and are perceptive of how they want to approach the script of the upcoming film.
According to reports, Dhawan's character is close to a monster in the upcoming film.
According to reports, the film's shooting will continue till the month of May. The schedule is quite long as the film will use a significant amount of VFX and prosthetics, which take time to render and are quite necessary for any horror film. The reports also add that this will be Dhawan's first foray into the horror genre.
After the success of Amar Kaushik's Stree, the producers of the film, Maddock Films, have financed 'Roohi', which is also a horror film. starring Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. 'Roohi' is set to release on March 11.
The production house will also produce 'Mujha', a prequel to 'Stree' after finishing the 'Bhediya' shoot.
With Maddock films producing back-to-back horror films, Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films is creating a horror-comedy universe.
'Bhediya' will also star Abhishek Banerjee in a key role. No official announcement for the upcoming film has been made yet but an announcement on the project is due soon. The film will hit theatres later this year.
The director, Amar Kaushik's upcoming projects include an untitled film on the subject of surrogacy and the sequel to 'Stree', 'Stree 2'.
Varun Dhawan was last seen in 2020's 'Coolie No.1' which was a remake of David Dhawan's 1995 film of the same name. The 2020 film was a colossal failure and received multiple negative reviews.
