MUMBAI: At the age of 76, veteran actor Harish Magon, well known for his part in the timeless comedy Gol Maal, said his final goodbyes to the world.

On July 1, the adored actor went suddenly in Mumbai, leaving a legacy of unforgettable performances. Although the exact reason for his death is still unknown, it is thought that he died of an ailment related to ageing. We shall always value his contribution to the Indian cinema industry. The Cine And TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) tweeted the news of his passing.

The versatile actor graduated from FTII and appeared in films such as Chupke Chupke, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, and Shahenshah. He played his final on-screen part in the 1997 film Uff! Yeh Mohabbat. He was both an actor and the owner of an acting school in Juhu, Mumbai.

The list of box office successes in Harish Magon's filmography is tremendous. His roles in films like Namak Halaal, Chupke Chupke, Khushboo, Inkaar, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Gol Maal, and Shahenshah left a lasting impression on the public. In 1997, Magon's final movie before quitting acting was Uff! Yeh Mohabbat. His first film, Chupke Chupke, was a role he was offered after graduating from FTII. In the movie, he took on the role of a thief.

Harish Magon made the important decision to stop acting in 1997. In Juhu, Mumbai, he established his own acting school, the Harish Magon Acting Institute. Magon's love for the trade inspired him to share his knowledge with budding actors by working as an instructor at Roshan Taneja's acting school.

Throughout his career, the outstanding actor had the opportunity to work with a number of well-known Bollywood actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Utpal Dutta, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, and Sharmila Tagore.
