BENGALURU: Kozhikode Sarada famous film actress from Malayalam film industry dies on Tuesday morning in the Kozhikode Government Medical College of Kerala. The veteran actor passes away at the age of 75 on 9 November.
According to sources Sarada was suffering from the disease for many days and on Monday she was admitted to the hospital after facing a cardiac arrest. Saji Cherian Minister for Films and Culture, Kerala paid condolences and said that Sarada will be missed as she was a very strong actor.
Throughout her life, Sarada had made a great contribution in the world of Malayalam cinemas by working in numerous movies. She had made her debut in Malayalam films with Angakkuri in the year 1979 and since then she has been continuously serving the film industry and fans with her acting in the side roles but mainly in the role of mother.
Sarada had acted not just in movies but also in TV serials and her career in films ended with acting in around 90 films. Some of the notable films where Sarada played a major role in success are Ennu Ninte Moideen, Sadayam, Nandanam, Ammakilikkoodu, Kutty Srank, Anubandham, and Nalkavala directed by IV Sasi.
Sarada got acclamation for her phenomenal acting in Sallapam, 1996 film by playing the role of mother of the character Manoj K Jayan who was the Hero in the film. This film appeared to be a great success for Sarada as it has led her to gain much popularity in the country.
Actress Sarada was born in the year 1946 in Velliparamba, Kozhikode from where she had completed her school education along with her graduation. She lived in Chennai, Tamil Nadu with her children Sajeev, Umada, Sreejith and Rajitha.
