11 Assam Civil Service cadres appointed as IAS officers

GUWAHATI: The government appointed 11 Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers as IAS officers in the Assam-Meghalaya cadres. Earlier, the Assam Government had moved the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to fill up its 2021 quota through appointment by promotion as IAS officers. Following the nod from the UPSC, the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pension (Department of Personnel and Training) issued an official notification regarding the appointment of 11 ACS officers of the state as IAS officers.

The 11 officers are Monita Borgohain, Gitanjali Bhattacharjee, Md. Shah Nawaz Choudhury, Fazlul Haque Choudhury, Kanvyashree Mahanta, Smitakshi Baruah, Malavika Choudhury, Indreswar Kalita, Kausar Jamil Hilaly, Deba Kumar Kalita, and Arundhati Chakraborty.
