18.5 kg Gold Bar Drops out of Car at Guwahati

GUWAHATI: While servicing a car at a workshop, a gold bar dropped out from inside the machine on Wednesday. Although the DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence) have not commented on the matter, according to sources, approximately 18.500 kg of gold valued at approximately 27 lakh, has been recovered from the car. The car had arrived in the city from Manipur. Meanwhile, CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) recovered 700 grams of gold from a passenger’s rectum at LGBI (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport) that same evening. The passenger was to board a flight to Delhi.
