2 Axam Xahitya Xabha Awards Announced at AXX Bhawan, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) has named the recipients of Kotha Xahitya Bota, 2019 and the Basudev Jalan Soworoni Bota, 2020.

In a statement issued to the press on Friday, AXX secretary general Padum Rajkhowa said, “Noted Sanskrit scholar and writer Umakanta Sarma has been named for the Kotha Xahitya Bota for the year 2019. The award will be given away to the scholar during the Sualkuchi session of the AXX. This award is given after every two years in memory of noted fiction writer Sri Sri Baikunthanath Bhattacharya. The first Kotha Award went to the Xatradhikar Auniati Xatra, Dr. Pitambar Deba Goswami. The Basudev Jalan Soworoni Bota, 2020 will go to noted writer Kapurchand Jain to be handed over on January 24, 2020 at a function at AXX Bhawan, Guwahati.”
