2 held with heroin, ganja in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from Basistha Police Station arrested one person while carrying drugs, while another EDGP team from Odalbakra Outpost arrested a woman who was carrying ganja on Saturday night.

In the first incident, a youth from Arunachal Pradesh, identified as Marconi Riba, was arrested from Jorabat and 11.1 gm of heroin was recovered from his possession. The heroin was hidden in a soap case.

The woman peddler, identified as Jibarti Deka, was arrested at Lalmati and 191 gm of ganja was recovered from her possession.
