2 human traffickers held by Paltanbazar police

GUWAHATI: The Paltanbazar police on Wednesday arrested two members of a racket which lures young girls to Mumbai with the bait of providing them opportunities to become actresses. Police sources identified the two arrested human traffickers as Zahirul Haque of Dhubri and Aklima Chowdhury of Barpeta. The arrests were made in connection with a case (310/2022) which was registered on the basis of an FIR lodged by a girl, the sources said, adding that the gang mainly targets girls with more followers on Instagram and Youtube.
