GUWAHATI: Security personnel at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Wednesday caught two women while they were allegedly trying to take an infant away from the hospital.
The Superintendent of the GMCH subsequently lodged an FIR at the Bhangagarh Police Station in this connection against the two women, identified as Promila Deka and Bijita Das, and they were handed over to the police.
According to police sources, the two women were detained by guards while trying to entice the attendant of a four-day old infant into selling it in exchange of Rs 5,000.
