2 women held with heroin in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: A joint team of the Crime Branch and Paltanbazar Police Station, based on input, seized suspected heroin in 145 containers. In this connection, the team apprehended two female smugglers identified as Sarifa Khatun (24) hailing from Pesarkandu in South Salmara district and Sajida Begum (33) of Algapur in Hailakandi district.

According to sources, the two were apprehended near the Rehabari State Bank, who were waiting for customers, and seized the items from their possession. The team also seized four mobile phones, Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 10,000, and Rs 770 in cash.
