20 years imprisonment for harassing minor in Kamrup (M)

GUWAHATI: A POCSO court in Kamrup (M) has sentenced an accused to 20 years of imprisonment for sexually harassing a minor. The minor was about seven years old.

In regards to this, the convict is identified as Ananta Das. This incident took place in 2016, and the family members registered a case at Pragjyotishpur police station. The Court has asked the District Legal Services Authority to give Rs 1 lakh in compensation to the victim’s family.
