GUWAHATI: A 4.4-intensity earthquake struck the northeastern part of the country on Monday morning. The exact time of the earthquake is said to be 8:03:35 AM. The epicentre of the tremors is said to be Sonitpur in Assam, at 26.68 N and 92.35 E latitude and longitude, respectively, and the source is said to be about 15 km below the surface of the earth. The resulting tremors were felt at several places across northeast India, including Guwahati.
