5 coal traders arrested for tax evasion in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Five persons have been arrested for suspected tax evasion pertaining to the coal trade in connection with a case (No. 180/22 u/s 120 (B)/468/420/471) registered at the Basistha Police Station.

Disclosing this, Joint Commissioner of Police of Guwahati Partha Sarathi Mahanta said that the extent of the tax evasion is estimated to run into several crores of rupees.

The arrested persons include one Balwant Bhama.
