7 held for selling teer tickets in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, a team of the East Guwahati District Police (EGPD) led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Dispur along with the Officer in-Charge of Bhangagarh Police Station on Monday arrested two persons for illegally selling teer tickets in the city.

They have been identified as Tinku Ray and Moidul Islam.

Police have recovered two mobile phones, Rs 8,070 in cash and some teer tickets from their possession.

Meanwhile, an EGPD team from the Basistha Police Station also arrested two other persons on the same charge.

They have been identified as Manoj Barman and Dhar Kumar.

The police team seized mobile phones, Rs 14,130 in cash and some teer tickets from their possession.

Later the Basistha police also arrested one Aina Reheng, Dispur police arrested one Pandey Rabha and Paltanbazar police arrested one Sujit Rai for illegally selling teer tickets in the city.
