A tribute to Anupama Bhattacharjee

Aita.... The very name is a symbol of love, grace, care and boundless gratitude. Our aita, Anupama Bhattacharjee was born in a quaint town of Upper Assam, Sivasagar. She was the first female artiste of mobile theatre in Assam.

With laurels backing her professional life, she showed immense prowess as a versatile artiste of the Assamese film industry. She acted in multiple feature films of the bygone era. On a personal front, she was an important person in our lives. From bringing us up to giving away our hands in marriage, she did everything as we lost our parents at a young age.

While she battled for a long time dealing with age-related issues, she never for a moment let go of her spirit to fight on. She finally succumbed to COVID-19 pneumonia on January 30, 2022.

Today, on the day of her adya shraddha, we pray to the Almighty to grant her eternal peace and also give us the strength to bear such an irrepecable loss.
