GUWAHATI: The All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Union has demanded that Siksha Karmis should be given 30 grace marks in the recently conducted Special TET, 2021.

The Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA), Assam conducted the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), 2021 on October 3, 2021, for all contractual employees engaged from time to time or presently working under SSA, Assam. All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Union president Abul Kalam said that Sanyogi Siksha Karmis had been appointed by SSA, Assam in primary schools across the State after their contract was terminated, they were rendered jobless. "Since the last 12 we have been demanding the State Government for our reappointment," said Kalam. He further said, "The government had assured us to conduct special TET. The Special TET was conducted on October 3, 2021. The exam was difficult. So we have urged the Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam to give us 30 grace marks in the exam. Most Sanyogi Siksha Karmis do not have the age eligibility to apply for other government jobs. Getting reappointed is the only hope for them. We urge the authority concerned to look into the matter."

Meanwhile, the Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam has written to Mission Director, SSA, Assam to "examine the matter" and give his views for further necessary action.
