GUWAHATI: Minister for Environment & Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya handed out appointment letters to Fisheries Development Officers (FDOs) under the Fisheries Department on Saturday, stated a press release.

The Minister gave the appointment letters to seven numbers of Fisheries Development Officers, selected by the Assam Public Service Commission, at a function organised by the Department of Fisheries at the conference hall of Meen Bhawan in the city.

Suklabaidya exhorted the officers to work with dedication and sincerity for all-round development of the fisheries sector. He said that the State has huge potential in the fisheries sector and everyone must pitch in with their efforts for optimum utilisation of resources.

The newly-recruited FDOs who received the appointment letters were Naznine Firdousie, Imran Hussain, Parashmani Kalita, Rajesh Debnath, Mondeep Saikia, Shilparani Hazarika and Ajimoon Nissa.

Joint Secretary and Director of Fisheries, NK Debnath, AFDC Chairman Gurujyoti Das, FISHFED Chairperson Sushila Hazarika, FISHFED Managing Editor cum Nodal Officer, APART (Fisheries), Dr Dhrubajyoti Sharma and Fisheries Development Officer attached to Minister, Fisheries, Pratul Deka were also present on the occasion.
