Assam Book Fair sees brisk sales

GUWAHATI: On the first day of the New Year, thousands of book lovers visited the Assam Book Fair organised jointly by the Assam Publication Board and All Assam Book Publishers and Sellers' Association at the Assam Engineering Institute ground at Chandmari, according to a press release.

The day' programme included the release of several new books and an interaction involving young writers. The day's cultural programme was inaugurated by GMC Commissioner Devashish Sarma, the press release stated. Books worth Rs. 60 lakh have been sold during the last three days, it added.
