Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) Announces Stir Against CAA

GUWAHATI: The Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA) has announced its agitation schedule against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). In a statement issued to the media on Wednesday, the association said that it is going to hold a meeting of intellectuals on the CAA in Guwahati on January 10 when the rights and security of the indigenous people of the State, the preparations of a foreigner-free NRC, etc will be discussed. On January 11 the ACTA is going to stage a sit-in demonstration at Chachal here against the CAA. The ACTA has already taken a decision against the move to accord Indian citizenship to a section of illegal immigrants.
