GUWAHATI: With the incessant rains, Assam has faced the first wave of flooding after the arrival of the southwest monsoon. And most of the rivers are flowing above the danger level, and many villages in various districts have been submerged.

The first battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), located in Patgaon, Azara, with 18 expert teams, has already deployed 10 expert teams to landslide-prone areas in four Northeastern states. Along with deploying in Uzanbazaar Ghat in Guwahati, additional expert teams have been deployed in Cachar, Dima Hasao Jorhat, Barpeta, and Bongaigaon districts of Assam to save lives during flood situations.

On the demand of DDMA Baksa district, one more NDRF team has been mobilized from Patgaon to Tamulpur sub-division to rescue people from the submerged villages of the revenue circle since Wednesday evening.
