Assam Floods: NEDFi, FINER donate to CM's fund for flood relief

GUWAHATI: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi) contributed an amount of Rs 30.45 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Assam to combat the devastating flood situation in entire State, including the Barak Valley.

According to a press release, NEDFi contributed Rs 25 lakh under its CSR fund and the remaining amount of Rs 5.45 lakh was collected from contribution of one days' salary of its employees.

As a part of the programme, a delegation led by PVSLN Murty, Chairman and Managing Director, NEDFi met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at his office recently and handed over the cheque. Murty appreciated the measures taken by State Government to control the flood situation in Assam.

NEDFi has been always supporting the Government in various relief efforts in the past. Last year, too, NEDFi contributed an amount of Rs 25 lakh to Chief Minister's Relief Fund to combat the second wave of Covid-19 under its Mission Oxygen Programme. Meanwhile, another press release informed that FINER, as a goodwill gesture, has also contributed an amount of Rs 21.10 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the flood affected people of Assam.

It added that FINER members wholeheartedly supported and contributed generously towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
